Nexora is a desktop workspace for social platforms people already use in the browser. One tab-free home replaces multi-tab sessions and repeat logins.

AI helped because the concept needed fast UI iterations: less time reproducing screens, more time evaluating the hypothesis.

I kept noticing the same pattern: everyone had invented a workaround for social platforms on desktop.
Lived in Chrome for Instagram and other platforms. The native apps were never the default.

Built separate browser workspaces for different tasks. A personal fix for a missing product.
Every open tab competed for attention. Distraction was always one accidental click away.
Everyone built their own workaround. The tell: not a missing feature, but a workflow no tool was designed around.

Users know the interaction, but every platform becomes another piece of the browser to manage.
They combine services, but aren’t centered on moving between social platforms.
Built for publishing, analytics or brand workflows, not lightweight personal use.
The gap: a focused workspace for switching, not a replacement for the platforms themselves.
Platform UIs stay familiar; Nexora owns the workspace around them.
For individuals juggling 4–6 accounts and freelancers/remote workers keeping a light eye on feeds, not brand/agency teams.
Leaving features out was deliberate. Building everything would look more complete but make the hypothesis harder to test.
Some limits are structural. Platforms blocking iframe/API embedding can’t be unified. Real-time uses can’t tolerate middle-layer latency. Also depends on platform ToS that can change.
Before any screens, I mapped the product's skeleton. The decision that shaped everything: platforms are organized by what they're for: Messaging, Social, Professional, Media not by which tab happened to open first. This approach scaled cleanly from 3 to 8+ platforms without needing to be restructured.
Six decisions that shaped how Nexora works, each with a clear why and a deliberate trade-off.
Why: switching is the core task. Trade-off: sidebar uses space, faster access mattered more.
Why: one platform at a time reduces visual competition. Trade-off: can’t see every feed at once.
Why: find platforms by purpose as the workspace grows. Trade-off: categories add light structure.
Why: repeated login was recurring friction. Constraint: platform auth and ToS still control what’s possible.
Why: don’t recreate the badge chaos the product aims to remove. Activity gathers in one place.
Why: Nexora owns the workspace. Users shouldn’t relearn every social platform.
One-week concept sprint. Reasoning and interactive behavior shown; no production data yet for measurable gains.
Concept coherent enough to prototype end-to-end. Feedback exposed a failure mode (persistent notification panel), so it was cut.

Biggest lesson: a polished product can still be too broad. Strongest direction came from narrowing to one behavior and supporting it in every decision.
Good product design isn’t about how much you can build. It’s about knowing what not to build so the real problem gets solved well.
